Where do the blueberries used in TrueBlue come from?
The majority of wild blueberries used in TrueBlue are sourced from Quebec and the Atlantic provinces of Canada.
How long can I store opened TrueBlue?
TrueBlue juice products do not contain preservatives and therefore, must be capped tightly and refrigerated after opening. For best results, use within 10 days.
How long can I store unopened TrueBlue?
Unopened products under normal storage conditions are good for 12 to 18 months from the manufactured date. Please keep in mind that this will vary depending on the product and the storage conditions.
Is there is an expiration date printed on the bottle?
We do not list expiration dates on TrueBlue products, only bottling dates. Each bottle has a code printed on it that indicates when the product was bottled. As mentioned above, typically the product has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of bottling. See below to determine what the bottling date is on your bottle of TrueBlue.
How do I know when my bottle of TrueBlue was made?
Every bottle of TrueBlue is marked with a manufacture code, either on the top of the white cap, or on the side of the bottle between the cap and label. Look for the first 4 digits of the code, typically printed in black ink. The first digit represents the year it was bottled and the following 3 numbers being the day of the year it was bottled out of a total of 365 or 366 days in that particular year. For example, a manufacture code of 7135 means that the bottle was filled on the 135th day of 2007 - May 15th, 2007.

Where can I buy TrueBlue?

Is TrueBlue pasteurized?
Yes, TrueBlue is pasteurized to ensure safety for our consumers. Pasteurization (heating process) eliminates the possible presence of harmful bacteria. By using this procedure, we eliminate the need for preservatives. Because the product is pasteurized, remember to refrigerate after opening to maintain freshness.
Does pasteurization affect the antioxidant activity in the blueberries used to make TrueBlue?
Pasteurization will lessen heat sensitive vitamins such as Vitamin C, but will not have an affect on the antioxidant compounds (such as anthocyanins) in blueberries. Two studies done on the effect of storage and processing of blueberries showed that there is actually an increase in the anthocyanin content after the blueberries were frozen and processed. (Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2002, 50:893-898.)
Is the package recyclable?
Yes, all TrueBlue products are packaged using recyclable PET plastic juice containers.
Does TrueBlue use BPA (bisphenol A) in any of its bottles?
No, none of the bottles and closures contain any Bisphenol A (BPA). TrueBlue bottles are made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). This type of plastic is 100% recyclable and does NOT contain any BPA.
What does “from concentrate” mean?
“From concentrate” means that at harvest time, the water is removed from the juice of the fruit. Later, water is added back into the juice concentrate during the manufacturing stage.
What are antioxidants?
Antioxidants help neutralize harmful by-products called "free radicals" that can lead to cancer and other age-related diseases. These molecules battle cell and DNA damage involved in cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and perhaps brain degeneration. Anthocyanin (the pigment that makes blueberries blue) is thought to be responsible for this major health benefit. For more information about the health benefits of blueberries, click here.
